Jan Voss（Boekie Woekie）

Born in Germany, in 1945. Artist. Boekie Woekie Owner. Voss studied at the Dusseldorf Academy of Fine Arts under Dieter Roth. His multimedia-based work includes editions, graphics, painting, objects, drawing, literature, as well as more than 100 artist books. In 1986, he co-founded the artist-run bookstore Boekie Woeke in Amsterdam. An international platform for independent publishing, the bookstore deals in self-published art books made by artists and small presses with whom they have close relationships. They consider their bookstore as a kind of “sculpture in progress” they work on concertedly.
